What is ADHD in children?

Patient's question:

My nephew is 8 years old this year and has started first grade. The teacher reported that the child is not honest during after-school tutoring and does not concentrate during lessons. Our family suspects that he might have ADHD (Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder) and doesn't know what to do. We all want to know what the symptoms of ADHD in children are. What kind of help is needed: What are the symptoms of ADHD in children?

Doctor's answer:

Children with ADHD require a quiet environment, but they find it difficult to stay calm and are often restless. They tend to be easily agitated and experience feelings of guilt, struggle to concentrate, and their attention easily shifts. They often start tasks but fail to complete them, talk excessively, and interrupt others frequently, which can disrupt the activities of other children. They have difficulty following the rules or discipline of group activities and exhibit unstable emotions. They must immediately receive the enjoyment of the suggestions given, otherwise, they may have emotional reactions. Their academic performance is poor, but this is not due to intellectual disabilities. Their movements are clumsy, and their fine motor skills are poor.
