Features: The "Pineapple Fragrant Beyond the Other Shore" series by a Japanese female author, a series of urban novels. The story of a white-collar female. "I" am a low-key girl, working in a bank in a mundane way, not making friends, not talking about myself, not seeking attention, just hoping to avoid trouble. But in this world, trouble comes uninvited. Female colleagues' rivalry, male colleagues' harassment, a demanding boss, nagging parents, and a relatively satisfactory lover who isn't romantic enough, always urging marriage and settling down. Exhausted both mentally and physically, "I" am forced to resign, yet find myself lost and with no way forward. My university friend, however, cheerfully flies to Hawaii, only to later hear the terrible news that her white boyfriend cheated her out of all her money. The "Pineapple Fragrant Beyond the Other Shore" isn't an ideal paradise either. "I" can only face reality, lighten up on worries, focus on the present, and under sheer desperation, choose a path of freedom and ease.
