Features: "Treasure Island" is an adventure novel by the British New Romanticism writer Stevenson. Young Jim finds a treasure map in the belongings of the old pirate Billy and learns that the pirate leader Flint has buried a large sum of wealth on an island. The squire Trefoil buys a sailboat, takes Jim and Dr. Livesey and others with him to seek treasure at sea. During the voyage, Jim accidentally discovers that out of 26 crew members, 19 are pirates, and most of them are Flint's men, who are plotting a mutiny to seize the wealth. Unbeknownst to them, Jim, hidden in an apple barrel, overhears them and tells Dr. Livesey and others. Thus, a secret division forms on the ship, representing "evil" with Flint and "good" with Dr. Livesey. Dr. Livesey is clever and resourceful, and Jim is. After several confrontations, the "good" side of Dr. Livesey finally defeats the "evil" side of Flint and his overwhelming majority, returning with the treasure.
