Publish Date: 2004-02-01
Features: Due to the shrinking habitats of medicinal animals, the deterioration of the ecological environment, and the increasing demand for animal medicinal materials, these resources have become increasingly scarce, leading to rising prices. As a result, modern domestic researchers, educators, production enterprises, and individuals have conducted extensive work in the introduction, domestication, and artificial breeding of medicinal animals, achieving remarkable results. The accumulation of this knowledge has laid a foundation for the artificial cultivation of medicinal animals. With the expansion of the scope of artificial breeding and the prolongation of breeding periods, the knowledge of artificial breeding, processing, and development of medicinal animal products has become increasingly rich. To systematize this knowledge and ensure its application in production and medical practice, the author has summarized the mature achievements of predecessors, incorporated recent research findings on medicinal animals, and compiled the new experiences accumulated over the years in scientific research and practice into this book, aiming to provide convenience for the production and development of medicinal animals. Although this book strives to achieve both popularization and advancement, serving as a reference for production, research, and teaching, due to the wide range of medicinal animals ranging from lower to higher taxa, spanning a large gap, and covering extensive content, there may still be omissions that require further enrichment and improvement by more experts and scholars. Nevertheless, as things stand, this book is sufficient to provide technical guidance to breeding producers and serve as a reference for researchers and educators.
