Features: In The Bird's Nest, all characters' fates undergo varying degrees of change revolving around photography and cameras. Some are even devastating, such as Da River Horse. He becomes a suspect in a murder case after losing his camera, searching for it, and discovering a dead body. His life is almost entirely overturned by the camera. Jing Ge's characters operate in that zone slightly beyond the boundaries of life, displaying an alternative stance and revealing a truly absurd poetic transcendence of existence. Jing Ge's contribution to contemporary fiction has not been sufficiently recognized by many. Personally, I believe he is one of the rare contemporary writers endowed with a strong sense of humor. This rare and authentic humor guides him in understanding life and helps him establish a unique narrative stance. The Jing Ge behind the words is essentially a carefree person, drifting from place to place, yet he is a calculated and patient hunter. Due to his lack of solemnity and his jumping gaze, he can capture the intricate details hidden in the folds of society and human hearts, while effortlessly avoiding the literary themes cultivated by other writers. Reading Jing Ge's works, one feels the buzz of some humorous yet sorrowful flies in the text. A tragic life gradually ascends to a respectable one, and a gloomy existence quietly transitions into a magnificent one. A group of college students' unconventional love lives, two shocking emotional relationships: the sincere friendship between two men leads them to love the same girl, transforming desire into a hazy sense of beauty; while the devoted bond between two girls, at the cost of sacrificing their love for men, ultimately invites fatal consequences. The novel features delicate brushwork, a twisting plot, complex character relationships, and an unexpected ending. It is a new long by the emerging writer Jing Ge, both highly readable and artistically distinctive.
