Patient's question:
My son has had cerebral palsy for more than half a year. It was discovered last year, and I feel extremely upset. I shouldn't have had a child with such a disease. We have been treating it for more than half a year, but the results are not obvious. Here, I sincerely ask the experts for some good advice. Thank you!Doctor's answer:
Cerebral palsy usually occurs before birth or during infancy, with causes including: birth injuries, neonatal jaundice, brain hypoxia, and premature birth. The main symptoms are increased muscle tone, difficulty with abduction, and in severe cases, muscle rigidity, contractions, and joint flexion. In mild cases, fine motor skills in the hands are poor, and the heels cannot touch the ground when walking. These patients often have language development and speech production disorders, as well as strabismus. Approximately one-third of patients experience varying degrees of seizures and intellectual disabilities. Cerebral palsy can lead to delayed motor development. If a child remains inactive and uncooperative after three months of birth, showing no crawling movements when prone, or if the hands remain tightly clenched after four to six months of age, gait abnormalities such as (shānzhāng bùtài - shuffling gait) and (jiǎndāo bùtài - scissor gait) may occur. Many drugs cannot directly penetrate the blood-brain barrier and thus lack direct therapeutic effects. Rehabilitation exercises can only improve the imitation ability of children with cerebral palsy and mild intellectual disabilities and partially enhance motor skills. These methods, which treat symptoms rather than the root cause, cannot resolve the fundamental issue. TCM (Traditional Chinese Medicine) Guī-Lóng-Nǎo-Kāng directly acts on brain cells, promoting protein synthesis, combating cerebral cortex hypoxia, improving brain energy metabolism, and accelerating cerebral blood circulation. This facilitates the growth and development of brain cells, offering hope for the child to regain normal speech, walking ability, and cognitive function.
