Features: This is a collection of essays focused on explaining the capital market, attempting to explore the future of China's financial industry through the lens of the capital market. Based on this, the collection is titled Capital Market Explanation. It is a sister volume to China's Capital Market at a Crossroads – Wu Xiaoqiu's Speeches and Interviews. The collection includes 38 essays, primarily research papers on the capital market, spanning from 1994 to 2002 from the over 60 articles I have published in recent years. The foundational papers on inflation, monetary policy, and money demand from earlier works were not included, as they are not closely related to my later focus on the capital market. The arrangement of the essays is chronological, primarily considering their relevance and timeliness. The last few essays in the collection were previously included in my earlier comprehensive economic Reflections on Economics – My Socio-Economic Views. For the sake of continuity and systematicity in professional research, I have specifically included these early capital market-related essays in this collection.
