Resource refers to the broad material basis required for human social activities. The natural and social conditions on which agricultural activities depend constitute agricultural resources. Based on their direct sources, agricultural resources can be divided into two major categories: natural resources and social resources. Natural resources directly derived from nature, such as sunlight, air, water, and land, are essential for agricultural production. Social resources directly obtained from other sectors, such as pesticides, fertilizers, and agricultural machinery, are also vital for agricultural production. Natural resources can further be classified into renewable resources (also known as regenerative resources) and non-renewable resources (also known as non-regenerative resources).
