How is bursitis of the knee? What are the consequences?

Patient's question:

A child around 5 years old has recently been experiencing frequent complaints of leg pain. How about patellar tendonitis? What are the potential consequences?

Doctor's answer:

If the knee has bursitis, it will primarily cause severe pain in the knee. When going up and down stairs, due to the increased load on the knee joint, the pain will become more pronounced. Temporarily, running and walking are not possible, and it is best to rest in bed. Nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drugs can be used for relief. If the treatment is not proper, it may also affect future physical activities. If there is abnormal gait, even amputation surgery may be required.
