Sartre was a renowned French writer of the 20th century. He inherited the humanitarian tradition of Rousseau and Hugo, established a philosophy of atheistic existentialism, and widely disseminated his existentialist philosophy through theater and novels. At the same time, he waged an unyielding struggle against imperialism and colonialism. On the other hand, his unconventional private life sparked controversy, presenting a rather complex image. This book is richly illustrated, providing clues for us to understand and recognize this writer.
