Jane's Gun Recognition Guide

Features: This book provides ample information, allowing even those unfamiliar with weapons to safely disassemble the ammunition and put the weapon in a safe state. The initial entry criteria were largely based on weapons designed for military or quasi-military use, equipped with usable ammunition, and those that might be in the hands of criminals or terrorists. In the new edition, we slightly relaxed the standards and included some non-military designed weapons that have been used by criminals. The purpose of this book is to provide basic and relatively accurate assistance in identifying weapons for firearms experts, military personnel, police officers, customs officials, and weapon enthusiasts. Mentioning "relatively accurate" is because the level of identification and recognition varies. The manufacturer of the Parabellum pistol, for example, categorizes it into dozens of models, but some collectors further divide it into over a hundred different models, or even more. This classification is undoubtedly useful for collectors, but unnecessary for basic identification. The distinctions considered by the manufacturers are sufficient to achieve the purpose of this book.
