Features: After the new era, especially after the 1980s, prose reached a peak in the 20th-century Chinese prose creation. During this period, both writers and works achieved unprecedented scale, and the artistic quality of the works attracted worldwide attention. A large number of renowned masters and celebrated masterpieces emerged. However, the various anthologies of 20th-century masterpieces of prose found in the book and periodical markets predominantly select works from the first half of the century, while the inclusion of contemporary writers' works is far less, creating a sense of imbalance. This does not align with the characteristics of contemporary development or the needs of people's cultural lives.
