Features: Conrad Bantelman's family moved to a new residential community. To find playmates of the same age, Conrad went door to door, meeting a little girl named Fritz. Fritz, though young, called herself a marriage expert because her parents had split up. Her father had an affair and left her and her mother behind, causing her mother to become neurotic. Seeking revenge, Fritz decided to take action—she planned to bring the Belgian giant rabbit left by her father to the house of the third party, hoping to make her develop an allergy to the rabbit's fur. Unintentionally, Conrad got involved in this plan. The experiences of one day seemed to make both children mature.
Another storyline in the book is the bedtime story that Conrad's father told him and his younger brother every night. This story about a snake with a touch of science fiction, filled with suspense and a sense of childhood wonder, provided a light-hearted counterbalance to the somewhat heavy topic of single-parent families.
