Although many people think traveling the world is exciting and thrilling, Zha Kexin's Chinese Girl Looks at America tells us that life in a strange place where strangers speak a foreign language is not always simple and easy. While not everyone has the opportunity to travel the world, Kexin's stories can be told in different ways to everyone. She tells the story of a new generation of immigrants in America, an experience shared by countless people in this immigrant nation, and the common journey of those who immigrate to distant, unfamiliar places. Early Chinese immigrants helped build the American West two hundred years ago. Today, Kexin tells the story of a new generation of Chinese immigrants in America from a fresh perspective.
