Features: The Chinese-English Dictionary has the following characteristics in terms of word selection:
1. Includes many new words. Based on the characteristics of the times, it includes some new things that people often encounter, such as notebooks (computers) and the Internet.
2. Includes many common professional terms. Some words are quite specialized and are only included in large reference books. However, with the development of media and the popularization of knowledge, many highly specialized terms have become common topics of conversation and frequently appear in newspapers and magazines. 3. Includes many colloquial idioms. Some spoken expressions in Chinese are often not included in other Chinese-English dictionaries because these idioms are neither suitable for formal settings nor easy to compile. 4. Includes some proper nouns appropriately. Proper nouns are often not included in small reference books. This dictionary appropriately includes some common proper nouns to facilitate readers' use.
English-Chinese Dictionary: This dictionary includes over 20,000 entries. The principle for selecting entries is to include words that are frequently and commonly used in daily life and work. Considering that the target readers are students, entries for obscure words and less common meanings of words are not included or explained in this dictionary. Given that American English is more widely encountered and used in today's society, we referred more to materials related to this aspect during the writing process, emphasizing American cultural background and characteristics in definitions and example sentences. For highly specialized terms, the dictionary specifically notes their scope of application. Additionally, it strives to reflect the usage methods and grammatical features of the words in the example sentences. This dictionary includes over 20,000 entries. The selected entries are words that are frequently and commonly used in daily life and work, and entries for obscure words and less common meanings of words are not included or explained in this dictionary.
