Features: The head entries in this dictionary are printed in large characters, using standardized fonts currently in common use. No variant or traditional characters are appended after the head entries. The head entries are arranged according to the Pinyin alphabet. Homophones are arranged by stroke order, with fewer strokes listed first and more strokes listed later. This dictionary includes all the characters that primary school students must master according to the newly promulgated teaching syllabus by the State Education Commission. Among them, there are 2,540 characters for the six-year curriculum and 2,400 characters for the five-year curriculum.
