Zixi, accompanied by her maid Jin, traveled thousands of miles from Jinan to Beijing with a token left by the emperor, seeking to reunite with her long-lost father. Upon arriving in the capital, the master-servant pair found it impossible to enter the palace to meet the emperor. In their desperation, they encountered a female thief named Xiao Yanzi and became friends. Xiao Yanzi was kind-hearted and willing to help Zixi. After going through various hardships and trials, with the steadfast support of many friends, they finally met the emperor. Xiao Yanzi used her eloquence to argue with the emperor, and with Zixi's willingness to live or die with her, the emperor finally softened.
