The English version has caused a sensation in Europe and America, hailed as a classic of Eastern fantasy. In the summer of 1993, in a Korean online chatroom named "SUMMER," young engineer Lee Eun-hyuk, a graduate of Seoul National University's Mechanical Design Department, posted excerpts of his creation "The Exorcist Chronicles" online. It immediately sparked a sensation, boosting his popularity, and the entire chatroom turned into a "The Exorcist Chronicles" room. In 1994, the first seven volumes of "The Exorcist Chronicles" were published by Seoul's DULNYOUK Publishing House, causing a strong reaction and nearly turning the entire country into a readership frenzy. Some readers even said that he lived solely to wait for the next publication of "The Exorcist Chronicles." The series continued until July 2001, when the nineteenth volume was released, making it a monumental work. Statistics show that by the end of last year, "The Exorcist Chronicles" had sold over 10 million copies in Korea, while the country's total population exceeds 40 million. Although only the first three volumes of the novel—A Voice Calling You to Open Your Eyes, The Portrait Paints a Portrait, and The Secret of the Kusanagi Sword—are being launched in China this time, the magical, wuxia, suspenseful, and horror elements characteristic of Korean horror fiction are fully present in them. Additionally, the unique esoteric Buddhist philosophy and legendary tales from Korean culture are also woven into this work. This volume includes four novels: The Secret of the Kusanagi Sword, Night Is Their Reign, Rice, and Swing.
