Features: The renowned mine manager, Liang Tingxian, inexplicably contracts "AIDS." This news not only shocks the grassroots workers and staff but also attracts the attention of the provincial committee and government, setting off an engaging storyline. Who is the No. 1 killer? Is it the HIV virus? Is it the ugliness of society? Or is it the pervasive and all-consuming tide of materialism? Liang Tingxian's tenacious struggle, the complex and touching personality of Provincial Party Secretary Yu Bo, Lu Xiaofeng's weaponized beauty and frenzied acts of revenge, the lecherous arrogance of Yu Tao, the younger brother of the Provincial Party Secretary, and the brave and wise one-armed hero, Wang Jinhong—all vividly reveal the intense conflicts between justice and evil, integrity and corruption, love and lust. It is deeply moving and heart-wrenching, truly a rare and outstanding long.
