In the CET4 exam, grammar structures and vocabulary are combined to form Part 3, consisting of 30 questions, with a test time of 20 minutes. Among them, grammar structure questions account for about 60%, i.e., 18 questions. Looking at the recent CET4 exam papers, it is not difficult to find that the grammar section covers a wide range of topics, nearly all types of parts of speech, non-finite forms of three types of verbs, complex sentences with nouns, adjective clauses, adverbial clauses, absolute phrases, agreement, inversion, and emphasis, among other basic grammar knowledge. The grammar exam focuses on key points, mostly complex and difficult-to-grasp items. Due to the objective and isolated discrete nature of the multiple-choice format used for grammar structure questions, it determines that they are divorced from context and communicative situations, serving as an indirect test of language communicative ability and a highly technical requirement. Moreover, in recent years, there has been a tendency to set difficult and unconventional questions in the grammar section, although the proportion is not high, it is still worth candidates delving into its question-setting patterns to achieve high scores. This book focuses on the above exam trends, comprehensively summarizes the common grammar structures and rules in the College English Test Band 4, and selects nearly a thousand types of frequently tested question types and exercises based on summarizing grammar key points and analyzing various grammar phenomena in the exam. It provides intensive reinforcement training to strengthen candidates' memory of grammar rules, enabling them to focus on remembering the "unconventional, special, and difficult" points in each item, fully grasp basic grammar points, and become proficient in their application. Of course, we do not simply list all grammar items but summarize the key and difficult points prone to errors through real exam questions, analyze the reasons for the errors, and summarize answer techniques to help candidates take a new step forward in grammar question-solving.
