This outline is applicable to civil servants, editors, journalists, proofreaders, and text input personnel, teachers and students in various schools, secretaries and office workers, and advertising industry professionals, among others. To more comprehensively implement the "National Law of the People's Republic of China on the General Language and Characters," strengthen the awareness of language and character norms among the Chinese people, improve the application level of the national language and characters, and promote the culture of the Chinese nation, we have meticulously compiled "Civil Servant Chinese Character Writing 5500 Characters—Running Script" based on the "Character List for the Chinese Character Application Level Test." The total number of characters in the "Character List for the Chinese Character Application Level Test" is 5,500, divided into three lists: List A, List B, and List C. List A contains 4,000 characters, List B contains 500 characters, and List C contains 1,000 characters. In terms of content arrangement, we have specifically designed it according to the "Outline for the Chinese Character Application Level Test" to help candidates understand and master the standard forms of the characters listed in the "Character List for the Chinese Character Application Level Test." At the same time, to alleviate the fatigue of those practicing calligraphy and to increase their knowledge, we have added some knowledge and common sense frequently used in daily work and study. Since running script can greatly improve writing speed, it is a highly favored script with a wide scope of application and high frequency of use, making it particularly suitable for civil servants, editors, journalists, secretaries, and teachers to write.
The author, Wu Yusheng, is the host of the calligraphy lecture on CCTV, the deputy secretary of the Chinese Calligraphy Research Association, an associate professor at the Calligraphy Training Center of the Chinese Calligraphers Association, and a judge for national and military calligraphy competitions. He won the sole special prize in the first "Civilization Cup" Calligraphy Competition and ranked first in the first China Chinese Calligraphy Competition. Mr. Wu Yusheng is proficient in all calligraphy styles, with his running script representing the highest level in the field of calligraphy today. He was selected by the Chinese Education Research Association as the "Standard Character Writer for the 'Writing' Textbook in the Nine-Year Compulsory Education Program."
We sincerely hope that this book will help you write beautiful and elegant characters, and we wish all candidates success in their tests!
