Principles of Non-ferrous Metallurgy (Second Edition) (Fu Chongshuo)

Author: Fu Chongshuo, Editor-in-Chief

Publish Date: 2004-07-23
Features: Since its first publication in 1984, this book has been adopted as the textbook for the Principles of Non-ferrous Metallurgy course by most universities in China. In 1987, according to the "Eighth Five-Year Plan" for metallurgical textbook planning and the teaching for non-ferrous metallurgy, the authors revised the book, making appropriate additions and deletions to the content, and supplementing new charts, data, and exercises. This book was compiled based on the textbook publication plan formulated by the Metallurgical Textbook Work Conference of the Ministry of Metallurgy. As a textbook for a professional foundation course, it systematically synthesizes and discusses existing research findings on non-ferrous metallurgy principles, categorizing them into nine chapters according to the characteristics of non-ferrous extraction metallurgy processes. Chapters 1 to 6 cover pyrometallurgical processes, chapters 7 and 8 cover hydrometallurgical processes, and chapter 9 discusses the basic principles of molten salts. Although this chapter should logically belong to pyrometallurgy, it was included after hydrometallurgy because molten salt electrolysis shares similarities with aqueous solution electrolysis in principle, making it easier to explain the concepts.
