The Art of Dealing with Affairs - One: Adapt to People
When dealing with matters, it is important to be flexible and considerate of individual differences. Do not act impulsively without regard for the situation, the person's character, or proper measure. Nor should one adopt the same approach in every situation, trying to "apply the same tactics to all situations." Treating everyone with fixed methods will only lead to your own losses, failures, and lack of popularity.
The Art of Dealing with Affairs - Two: Adapt to Circumstances
Matters vary in difficulty and scale. If you believe the task at hand is beyond your capabilities, do not overestimate yourself ("puffing up your face to look fat"). If you are uncertain about the outcome, be cautious and proceed step by step. If you are confident in your ability to accomplish the task, act decisively without hesitation. Adapting to the circumstances is the key to success.
The Art of Dealing with Affairs - Three: Adapt to Timing
The selection and (grasping) of timing are the soul of success. In many situations, if you want your opinions or decisions to have a greater and more impactful effect, you must choose the right moment and act accordingly. Otherwise, speaking too early is useless, and speaking too late leads to self-destruction. Choosing an inappropriate setting will yield minimal results or even negative consequences. This is the power of "timing."
