Features: This book is a specialized monograph introducing the practicality of intelligent optical networks from the perspective of practical applications. The entire book is divided into three main parts: the Basics of Intelligent Optical Networks, the Networking Section, and the Equipment and Applications Section. In the Basics Section, it introduces the fundamental concepts and development trends of optical transport networks, emphasizing the architecture of intelligent optical networks, user network interfaces, and protection/recovery. In the Networking Section, from the perspective of actual network construction, it analyzes the basic principles of networking and the key issues to consider during the process. It provides technical recommendations for deploying intelligent optical networks and uses network simulation tools to plan and study several typical network cases. In the Equipment and Applications Section, it briefly introduces the intelligent optical network solutions of several equipment manufacturers, analyzes intelligent optical network services and applications such as Optical Virtual Private Networks (OVPN), outlines the application status of intelligent optical networks domestically and internationally, and elaborates on the introduction strategies and key considerations for intelligent optical networks.
