Features: The English vocabulary book for postgraduate entrance examination we have launched also has its unique features. Considering that candidates for the exam already possess a basic English proficiency, we have omitted fundamental content such as memory methods and example questions. Instead, we focus on the following two aspects:
First, the selected vocabulary has a high degree of reliability. It ensures that all essential terms are included without unnecessary additions, striving for accuracy and comprehensiveness. It is particularly important to note that modern technology-related vocabulary (including electronics, biology, finance, etc.) is evolving rapidly and can be found everywhere, from television, tabloids, to advertisements. However, existing dictionaries or glossaries often fail to keep up with their inclusion. For example, this vocabulary book covers the full forms and meanings of terms such as "Battlefield Missile Defense System," "cordless phone," "network roaming," "educational software," "digital television," "Global System for Mobile Communications (GSM)," "cold fusion," "particle accelerator," "slow-motion," "Internet cafes," and "mobile phones," as well as acronyms like "NMD," "TMD," "CDMA," "GPS," and "VHS." This ensures the comprehensiveness of the vocabulary and aids candidates in their preparation for the exam.
Second, we adopt a dictionary-style compilation approach, breaking away from the conventional format of "English word + Chinese translation." Each entry includes phonetic symbols, part of speech (including inflections), definitions, related phrases and expressions, idioms, and more, enabling readers to fully grasp the meaning and usage of the vocabulary and pass the exam smoothly.
Additionally, the book maintains the "pocket-sized" format, making it convenient for on-the-go use and highly affordable.
