Features: This is a teaching material for children learning the yangqin, including various basic techniques for playing the yangqin. The mastery of these techniques is achieved through practicing simple exercises and pieces. The book is divided into two parts. Part 1 briefly introduces methods for children to start learning the yangqin and how parents can assist in coaching. The text includes pictures for reference, explaining playing posture and bamboo holding techniques. Since the specifications of yangqins for children's learning are not uniform, an arrangement diagram of the yangqin used by art academies and performing groups across China is appended. Part 2 mainly consists of various exercises and pieces designed for practice. It includes exercises for playing scales, single notes, octaves, arpeggios, staccato notes, various legato techniques, tremolo, sliding notes (up and down), plucking strings, pressing notes, rolls, fast rolls, and practice in major keys (such as C, D, G) and key changes, as well as simple polyphonic techniques. The exercises for scales in each major key are accompanied by sight-reading and rhythm training for children aged 6–8. For each technique exercise, detailed annotations are provided to explain key points and precautions during practice, helping learners understand each lesson correctly.
