Features: The study of antonymic compound words expands from the research on antonymic structures, further delving into major theoretical issues such as the lexicalization and depersonalization of antonymic compound words, as well as the evolution of their semantic meanings. This book employs methods such as monosyllabic antonymic word pairings, subjective intervention, corpus investigation, and standard identification to extract 326 antonymic compound words as research subjects. It adopts a combined approach of synchronic and diachronic, qualitative and quantitative, descriptive and explanatory methods, applying lexicology. The study also compares antonymic compound words in common language and dialects, focusing on aspects such as word form, word meaning, and grammatical attributes. The Modern Chinese Dictionary contains 218 antonymic compound words, while the Great Dictionary of Chinese Dialects includes 103 corresponding antonymic compound words.
