Features: To meet the needs of talent cultivation in the 21st century, it is an urgent task to compile a college physics textbook suitable for engineering colleges. After years of compilation and trial use, we have completed this series of engineering physics textbooks based on the "Basic Requirements for Physics Courses in Non-Physics Majors of Higher Education Institutions" issued by the Ministry of Education in 2004. Throughout the compilation process, we have adhered to the principles of "ideological nature, scientific nature, and targeted nature." In terms of content selection, we have considered the development of contemporary physics and science and technology, especially the characteristics of college physics teaching in engineering. We have strengthened the systematic exposition of theoretical foundations to equip students with the necessary physics knowledge, while placing emphasis on cultivating scientific thinking, methods, and innovative abilities. We have also enhanced the application-oriented content by directly linking classical theories and modern physics achievements with engineering technology and military high technology, highlighting practicality and targeting to improve students' ability to connect theory with practice and broaden their horizons. This series of textbooks is divided into 6 parts and 20 chapters, covering mechanics, mechanical vibrations and waves, thermodynamics, electromagnetism, wave optics, and quantum physics, published in two volumes. The selection of examples, exercises, and applied knowledge not only helps students understand physical concepts but also enhances their ability to apply theory to practice.
