Features: With the development of the open-source movement, an increasing number of software vendors have opened their product source codes to varying degrees. Sun Microsystems has also followed this trend and finally opened the source code of Solaris 10, offering the stable Solaris free to users. Solaris 10 is a multi-user, multi-tasking, and multi-threaded operating system developed and sold by Sun Microsystems, a specific implementation of the UNIX operating system. From the perspective of a system administrator, this book introduces six major parts of the Solaris 10 system: installation, system components, security, device management, networking, service catalog, and applications. The author describes the relevant concepts, functions, and commands of Solaris as detailed as possible, with a focus on many new features of Solaris 10. Since the author works in the field of network security, a significant portion of the book is dedicated to discussing system security, which is of great concern to system administrators. Solaris 10 Practical Complete is a relatively comprehensive practical book and an ideal reference for system administrators.
