Features: This book selects spoken vocabulary that is representative internally and distinct externally, beneficial for comparative research, from aspects such as pronunciation, basic vocabulary, and grammatical features. After careful deliberation and multiple revisions, two vocabulary questionnaires were designed: a concise one with 439 words and a detailed one with 1,900 words. On one hand, these can be used to investigate dialectal vocabulary; on the other hand, by analyzing the pronunciation of the vocabulary, the phonetic system can be organized, thereby comprehensively and authentically reflecting the actual situation and historical layers of the local dialect. Some sounds or special phonetic phenomena may only exist in certain spoken words. If only a character list is used for investigation, these might be missed. Thus, this approach compensates for the shortcomings of single-character phonetic surveys. This is also the reason we decided to use vocabulary questionnaires instead of directly investigating with a character list. During the design process of the vocabulary questionnaires, to record the complete phonetic system of the dialect, we fully considered the representative sequence of the dialectal phonetic system. Therefore, the vocabulary questionnaires actually contain an implicit common character list.
