Features: Zizhi Tongjian is a monumental historical work that condenses the political actions and power struggles of ancient China. It is a must-read for emperors and kings of the past, who consulted it to learn from history and govern wisely. Nine hundred years later, Mr. Bao Yang spent ten years (1983-1993) translating it into modern language, personally redrawing maps, and infusing his own perspectives. He discussed the causes of historical successes and failures, making a history book originally intended only for emperors, generals, and statesmen so accessible and engaging for today's readers.
