Features: China is a unified multi-ethnic country where 56 ethnic groups gather, coexist, and thrive, jointly forging the glorious history of the Chinese nation over thousands of years. With its long history, the content it encompasses is vast and magnificent. Beyond the commendable traditional culture, ancient science and technology, and great spirit of patriotism, the cohesion of the Chinese nation can be said to be the most distinctive feature of Chinese spirit, and it is justly regarded as a model for multi-ethnic countries in the world. Ethnic issues are part of the broader issue of social development, and resolving them requires a broad perspective and foresight. Under the leadership of the Communist Party of China, the socialist China has integrated the essence of Chinese history and the refined Marxist ethnic theory, achieving outstanding results in addressing complex ethnic issues. Its valuable essence shines across all fields it touches, paving a broad and prosperous path for the unity, progress, harmony, and mutual support of all ethnic groups in China. To inherit and promote the spirit of ethnic unity and cohesion, and to implement the Party's ethnic policies accurately and comprehensively, it is essential to study scientific ethnic theories, understand rich ethnic knowledge and culture, and master Marxist ethnic perspectives. The book "Ethnic Knowledge Q&A" compiled by Comrade Zhou Deqing adopts a question-and-answer format, organizing 390 independent content pieces with strong targeting and a concise length. It has added a stepping stone to promote ethnic culture and popularize ethnic knowledge. As the chief editor of this book, Comrade [Name of the Chief Editor] happily wrote the preface after thoroughly reviewing it, precisely because of its value. The book covers many aspects of ethnic issues: basic ethnic knowledge, ethnic history, folk customs, ethnic culture and language, ethnic exchanges and relations, ethnic theory and policy, Marxist ethnic perspectives, ethnic religious beliefs, and more. It presents the rich connotations of China's ethnic field from multiple angles. Although it does not cover everything comprehensively or establish specialized research topics, it compiles the basic ethnic knowledge people need to master, the basic ethnic common sense they want to learn, the basic ethnic policies they should understand, and the basic ethnic concepts they should establish. These "basics" are actually very important, as they encompass all aspects of ethnic issues, especially from the perspective of Marxist ethnic theory. This enables us to learn methods of observing and solving ethnic issues while studying ethnic knowledge. This is the method of combining theory with practice, the dialectical materialist method, the logical historical method, and the systematic comparative method. It is clear that after reading this book, readers can not only enrich their knowledge but also inspire their thoughts, awaken more ethnic awareness and emotions, break free from narrow ethnic concepts, and enhance a sense of historical responsibility for national unity. As far as I know, publishing this book is a long-standing wish of Comrade Zhou Deqing. He graduated from the History Department of the Central University for Nationalities in 1966. In 1968, with youthful hearts full of passion, he and his wife responded to the call of the motherland and、—. In the snow-covered, thin-air, and hard-to-live-in Shigatse Prefecture of the Tibet Autonomous Region, they overcame various living and physical discomforts, dedicating themselves wholeheartedly to ethnic education work and completing the arduous tasks assigned by the organization. They gave up their youth, suffered from high-altitude sickness, but also purified their spiritual souls, strengthened their ethnic sentiments, and forged a strong will to overcome difficulties. After returning to work in the inland areas in 1981, Comrade Zhou Deqing remained passionate about ethnic affairs and applied his rich ethnic work experience to ethnic education and ethnic issue research. He took on teaching in ethnic theory, academic exchanges, ethnic knowledge research, and popularization. The publication of this book is inseparable from Comrade Zhou Deqing's feelings and understanding of ethnic work. The manuscript was revised multiple times, with every word carefully considered to ensure clarity, simplicity, and comprehensive and accurate content. It is an excellent book on ethnic knowledge and theory.
