Among them, many species are unique to China or ancient relic plants that have long gone extinct in other regions. However, since this century, due to population growth and rapid industrial development, humans have increasingly exploited natural resources, even in a predatory manner, leading to a sharp decline in forest areas and severe damage to vegetation. As a result, many plants of significant scientific and economic value have gone extinct. Some surviving species are now extremely rare and face critical threats. It is estimated that among China's approximately 30,000 higher plant species, at least 3,000 are threatened with extinction, even bordering on complete disappearance.
