The Analects Today

Features: Time flies, yet my teeth grow in vain; the year draws to a close, can I help but feel a sense of melancholy? But since there is still some time left, why do I come to translate, annotate, and record the Analects, which has already been translated, annotated, and recorded by many others? I believe, although I am far from being deeply fond of this book, it happens to be the very [soul] of Chinese culture in some sense. Here, I have some doubts. I feel that there is still some work needed to be done regarding Confucius's Analects and Confucianism, and that is the work of both deconstructing and reconstructing the [half-religious, half-philosophical] essence of this cultural spirit.
