Features: In December 1939, Zhang Henshui began serializing the allegorical novel "Eighty-One Dreams" in Chongqing's "Xinmin Daily." Due to this work mercilessly criticizing the dissolute and corrupt officials, it offended the powerful figures of the time, leading to Zhang Henshui being under strict surveillance by secret agents. As a result, "Eighty-One Dreams" was forced to stop after only writing a dozen or so dreams.
