Author: Zhang Nier
Publisher:
Publish Date: 1999-06-01
Features: The subjects of the author's interviews were mostly elderly people from the Air Force, who were familiar with my father and thus more willing to accept me. In those cold winters and hot summers, in those bright springs and cool autumns, the author, while visiting these households, looked at people who once stood at the center of political storms but were now long submerged in the dust of history. Listening to them recount stories that had long passed but still left the author deeply moved upon reflection, a desire to express surged within the author. Gradually, the author gained a deeper understanding of this unprecedented and unparalleled page in the history of the Communist Party of China. The author began to write down what they knew and thought, word by word, and this book, nearly 270,000 words in length, was born. Of course, since many of the key figures have passed away, some important details may never be fully clarified and can only remain speculations. Additionally, due to well-known reasons, some important details may have to wait for the author to supplement them in the future.
