The specific advancements of the third edition include:
First, it incorporates new achievements from the academic community, making progress in major theories of socialist economy. For example, it adds the concepts of social harmony and the free and comprehensive development of individuals. Another example is the theory of scientific development, which not only provides a comprehensive discussion of its fundamental requirements but also supplements related content extensively.
Second, it integrates theoretical contributions from related disciplines, adding new content. For instance, in the context of economic globalization, the discussion on China’s foreign economic relations now includes basic theories of world economy, international finance, and international trade. Incorporating these theories into the political economy textbook is not intended to replace the role of other specialized courses but to provide foundational theoretical support for students of economics-related disciplines—a responsibility that the discipline of political economy must uphold.
Third, it consolidates content that was previously scattered throughout the book, concentrating it in relevant chapters to avoid redundancy.
Fourth, in terms of presentation, it adds statistical charts and graphs to make potentially dry knowledge more engaging.
