Features: Strategy deals with the future, and therefore inevitably involves uncertainty. In traditional approaches, businesses eliminate uncertainty from strategic planning, assuming the existence of "experts" who can predict "possible futures" and have the ability to assess the likelihood of specific outcomes. However, any situation faced by strategists always contains irreducible uncertainty and ambiguity. Only by clearly understanding this fact can successful strategies be developed and established.
"Scenario Planning" is today's most important strategic planning method. It transforms planning for the future from a one-time, short-term activity into a continuous learning program. When faced with uncertainty, planning becomes an endless process of learning. Businesses should not be finding a single, perfect solution. Instead, they should establish a process that allows the organization to continuously learn, consider various possible future developments, and then formulate corporate response strategies based on these multiple scenarios.
