Features: Since life formed on Earth, various animals and plants have continuously emerged and disappeared. The emergence of new species and the extinction of old ones were originally natural phenomena. However, due to various reasons, the rate of species extinction on Earth has greatly accelerated. Species that would naturally take millions of years to die out are now facing the threat of extinction within just a few decades. What exactly is causing so many animals and plants to be on the brink of extinction?
1. Violation and destruction of the ecological environment
2. Environmental pollution
3. Introduction of alien species
4. Spread of viruses and pests
5. Commercial interests-driven activities
Many wildlife and plant conservation organizations and individuals in China and around the world have conducted arduous research and investigations globally to identify which species are at risk of extinction and what measures can be taken to save them. To deepen the understanding of this grand endeavor to maintain Earth's ecological balance and serve humanity as a whole, especially among young people in China, we have compiled the "Global Endangered and Rare Animals Album" series based on the data published by wildlife and plant conservation organizations worldwide. The series is divided into three volumes: "Mammals," "Birds," and "Fish, Amphibians, and Reptiles." While the list does not include all endangered animals, it covers the main species.
