Features: The full name of France is the French Republic. It is located at the western end of the European continent. From a map, France's mainland appears hexagonal, hence the nickname "Hexagon." This book aims to narrate the development of French culture and its modernization process. However, we have no intention of discussing the conceptual issues of culture and modernization, as the term "culture" has sparked much controversy, with some statistics indicating that there are approximately 200 definitions of culture in recent years. Modernization, too, is a multifaceted and profound concept. We are also unable to elaborate on all aspects of French culture and modernization. We will only discuss issues related to economic modernization, political system modernization, as well as the associated social, cultural life, and science and education.
