What are the symptoms of jaw bone fracture?

Patient's question:

The child is around 5 years old. Recently, for some unknown reason, they often complain of leg pain. Could you please tell me what the symptoms of a jawbone fracture are?

Doctor's answer:

Malocclusion of teeth
The occlusal relationship between upper and lower teeth often becomes disordered due to the displacement of the fractured segments of the jawbone. This is the most obvious symptom of jawbone fractures and holds significant importance for the diagnosis of jawbone fractures. In the case of a transverse fracture of the maxilla, the downward displacement of the fractured segment causes the upper molars to make early contact with the lower molars, resulting in an open bite in the anterior teeth. After a mandibular fracture, malocclusion of teeth frequently occurs due to the displacement of the fractured segments. If there is no displacement of the fractured segments, the occlusion of the teeth remains largely unaffected.
