Features: To standardize and improve the entrance examination for part-time master's degree programs, enhance the scientificity, authority, and fairness of the foreign language entrance examination, the Office of the State Council Academic Degrees Commission decided in 2002 that the national entrance foreign language examination for part-time master's degree programs (English, Japanese, Russian, German) would no longer be categorized by degree type. Instead, it would follow unified examination syllabi, with standardized question setting, examination, and grading, and selection based on merit. That same year, we engaged experts and scholars from over ten universities across the country to compile and publish the national unified examination syllabus for foreign languages (English, Japanese, Russian, German) for part-time master's degree programs. This syllabus fully considers the characteristics of part-time master's degree programs and strengthens the assessment of candidates' foreign language application skills in terms of examination content and items. Over the past three years, we have closely monitored the implementation of the unified examination, held timely discussions with candidates, and consulted with relevant experts. Building on the experience of previous unified examinations, we have decided to organize experts from relevant fields to supplement and revise the syllabus. The revised syllabus (Second Edition) will serve as the basis for standardized question setting for the national entrance foreign language examination for part-time master's degree programs (non-English majors) in the coming years, as a reference for universities in related teaching and tutoring, and as a study guide for candidates preparing for the examination.
