In the preface to the previous volume, I briefly reviewed my writing journey, and these works were written during a time constrained by both the era and personal limitations, their immaturity being self-evident. During the process of compiling the collection, these immature works repeatedly made me blush, and the idea of abandoning them kept recurring. However, the artistic conscience and sense of responsibility triumphed over the desire to protect one's own work. Since the collection is offered to readers, the creative trajectory of a writer should be presented honestly and authentically. Writing such novels with a temporal distance offers a unique enjoyment—you can recognize beauty and ugliness, good and evil, truth and falsehood more clearly through this distance. By worrying about the past, one can cultivate a measure of wisdom and refinement.
