(A line from the poem by the great Russian poet Pushkin) The battle to liberate Hainan Island has passed half a century. 1955 was merely "a blink of an eye." To be responsible for history, I resolved, with trembling hands, to write down the true story of the battle to liberate Hainan Island 55 years ago. I believe that to review history, one must do it oneself to write with the emotions of the time, making it more intimate, authentic, vivid, and profound. This book focuses on writing about the decision-making and command of the Hainan Island battle from a macro perspective, that is, only writing about the battle decisions and combat operations directly related to the battle command. As someone who has walked through the war, writing a memoir, I feel it is necessary to write about the positions I held at the time, the wars, battles, and campaigns I personally experienced, as well as the people in various positions I personally encountered. Only in this way can the true face of history be accurately reflected.
