Am I having a glaucoma problem?

Patient's question:

I recently noticed something wrong with my eyes. My vision has deteriorated significantly, but I didn't have nearsightedness to begin with. Additionally, I've been drinking more water than usual, and whenever I do, I feel like I can't move and experience some pain. I want to ask if I might have glaucoma?

Doctor's answer:

Glaucoma can cause symptoms such as headaches, nausea, vomiting, and sudden vision changes. Excessive drinking can also lead to headaches, but it doesn't necessarily indicate glaucoma. A thorough eye pressure check-up is needed for diagnosis. If the eye pressure check is normal but vision has significantly declined recently, it may be related to presbyopia symptoms, caused by weak lens accommodation. Dilated refraction and corrective lenses can be used. For high eye pressure, the use of mydriatic eye drops is required, combined with mannitol infusion to lower blood pressure.
