Patient's question:
I've been feeling chest pain recently, and I suspect it might be due to bronchitis. Does bronchitis cause chest pain?Doctor's answer:
Chest pain is just a symptom, and there are many different causes for this symptom. If there is bronchitis, it is certainly possible for it to cause one of the symptoms. Additionally, it could also be due to local muscle or ligament strain, or intercostal neuralgia. It could also be caused by insufficient blood supply to the heart muscle, or chronic gastrointestinal inflammation and duodenal ulcers, among other factors. If accompanied by coughing, shortness of breath, difficulty breathing, and coughing up phlegm, it could be due to bronchitis.
