Features: This book is closely integrated with MATLAB programming language and systematically introduces the finite element analysis method for bar structures. The book is divided into 9 chapters. Chapter 1 provides a general introduction to the basic types of bar structures and their fundamental analysis concepts. Chapters 2 to 7 separately introduce the analysis methods for 6 typical bar structures: continuous beams, plane trusses, plane frames, plane plate frames, spatial trusses, and spatial frames. Each of these chapters is relatively independent, making it convenient for readers to quickly learn the content of each chapter. Chapter 8 presents analysis programs and examples for the 6 basic types of bar structures. Chapter 9 provides a detailed introduction to the analysis methods for special problems of bar structures, such as displacement of supports, elastic supports, inclined supports, plane nodes, interruption of force transmission in bars, elastic connections at bar ends, beam-column elements, etc. Additionally, the book includes computational analysis exercises for 6 typical bar structures. In the appendix, the constraint reaction forces generated by loads and other factors acting on constrained bars are provided. This book serves as a technical reference for engineering professionals and researchers in structural engineering and related fields engaged in structural analysis and calculations. It can also be used as a textbook and teaching reference for faculty and students in higher education institutions in relevant disciplines.
