Is low protein anemia?

Patient's question:

This winter, the company is offering health checks at half price for all employees. In our department, there are only two female colleagues. After a thorough examination, there were no other significant issues, but it was noted that my hemoglobin level is low. I don't know the specific reason for this, but the doctor also said it's not anemia. I'd like to understand why low hemoglobin isn't necessarily anemia?

Doctor's answer:

The normal range of hemoglobin for women is generally above 110. If the measured value of your hemoglobin is below 110, we consider that you may have anemia. If your direct measurement is above 1100, then we consider that your anemia does not exist. So, if it is not anemia when above 110, there is no need to do anything? But if it is below 110, it is necessary to investigate the cause of anemia, the most common being iron deficiency anemia.
