Speak of Lu Xun

Features: Reading through the book, Kong Qingdong's account of Lu Xun's "Return to the World" chapter is particularly vivid. In the old Kong's view, Lu Xun, who had spent ten years copying ancient steles, was like a sage practicing in a secluded mountain temple, living in solitude when he had nothing to contribute to the world, only using his unfulfilled mastery to console himself. Yet, he could not resist the call of the world or abandon his moral responsibilities, and resolutely stepped into the turbulent world, though he remained lonely in the end, he left an immortal legend for modern China, and his own life was also thoroughly released in the process: "laugh loudly when joyful, shout loudly when sad, curse wildly when angry." This is what Mr. Qian Liqun refers to as "the great soaring of life." Lu Xun was such a person who lived life with passion and emotion. As Kong Qingdong himself puts it, "Lu Xun was not a cold, simple cultural warrior, but a deeply human person." In this way, the personal charm of Lu Xun is truly presented before us.
