Features: The Qualification Examination for Master's Degree by was first implemented by the State Council Academic Degrees Office in 1995. Over more than a decade, the number of candidates has grown, and its social influence has gradually increased, making it one of the important channels for assessing the learning and research capabilities of working individuals seeking advanced degrees. It has also become an indispensable reference for professional title evaluations and career advancement. The English proficiency exam, with its rapidly updated syllabus, large volume of questions, tight time constraints, and strict grading standards, has become a challenging hurdle for many working candidates. The new syllabus sets specific quantitative targets for vocabulary, reading speed, writing word count, and time, while also strictly controlling the examination duration. Specifically: a vocabulary requirement of 5,000 words; reading 5 passages, each approximately 300 words, requiring a reading speed of 80-100 words per minute; an English argumentative essay of 120-150 words; and 90 minutes for subjective questions and 60 minutes for objective questions, with separate grading criteria.
To help working candidates utilize limited time to study knowledge and improve test-taking skills, the Academy Center has launched this set of "100% Series English Teaching Books." This series is divided into three sub-books: Vocabulary, Reading, and Translation and Writing, and features the following three aspects:
1. Close alignment with the actual exam Each sub-book is divided into three parts: theoretical knowledge, actual exam explanations and analysis, and simulated exams with answers. The Vocabulary sub-book focuses on the 4,500-word syllabus, categorizing words by frequency and difficulty, and teaching scientific methods for memorizing vocabulary. The Reading sub-book analyzes and organizes past exam questions, summarizing reading formulas. The Translation and Writing sub-book expands English language knowledge by combining with actual exam questions.
2. Clear teaching modules To help working individuals use fragmented time for effective review, the authors of this book have adopted a modular teaching approach for vocabulary, reading, translation, and writing. Grammar points are refined and organized into formulas, while essay templates range from simple to complex, allowing for flexible adaptation.
3. Enhancing practical application Practice is the most effective way to consolidate memory. Each chapter exercise includes detailed explanations, enabling learners to identify gaps, summarize, and generalize.
This series of books is co-authored by Wang Jianhua, Ph.D., from Renmin University of China, and Wang Hui, an outstanding young teacher from the China Youth University of Political Science and Law. They have teaching and accumulated extensive teaching experience in their daily work. Based on the learning characteristics of working individuals, they have continuously expanded and improved their teaching content while staying abreast of exam trends and adjusting teaching directions to adapt to the changes of the new syllabus. This ensures that readers of different levels and abilities can use limited time for efficient review, achieving a qualitative leap in test-taking skills and English proficiency. This book is a testament to their teaching achievements.
This book is suitable for working individuals to read and study, and it also serves as a guiding reference for students and self-taught learners seeking to improve their English skills.
